A small country church with humble beginnings, we've been here for more than 140 years ...

Since the Hardy Church was established in 1870 (thirty years before this picture was taken in downtown Howell), our community and the world have faced many challenges ... several wars, the Great Depression, and even terrorism ... but we've also been witness to many miracles. From the 15th Amendment in 1870, Thomas Edison's light bulb in 1879, the telephone, airplanes to space travel, countless vaccines and other medical discoveries, automobiles, and the internet ... not to mention privileges and freedoms people in other countries can only dream of.

Through decades and generations, the faith of the people of Hardy Church has held them together as one church family ... and we invite you to join us. We at Hardy, are a close fellowship of Christian people, seeking to grow in our experience of faith in Christ through regular worship and an active congregational life.

While preserving our heritage as a small rural church, we welcome new people and families to share their experiences and lives, and to bring new, creative ways of expressing Christ's love for all of us.

Hardy seeks to be faithful to God's call to be Christian servants, and follow the example of Christ. The church actively supports programs for relief of hunger (CROP, Gleaner's Food Bank, Angel Food Ministries), Methodist Children's Home, and other community caring efforts.

Our Mission: To be effective witnesses for Jesus Christ through service and love.

The Hardy United Methodist Church property and equipment are available to church and community families, for events that are in keeping with the principles of the United Methodist Church.
